Pro Planting Mix is an excellent well-balanced soil for raised beds or in-ground garden beds. The mix contains Tank’s Organic Compost*, Decomposed Pine, Prococo Coconut Coir Chips*, Perlite*, Screened Native Soil and Certified Meal*. The Organic Compost and  Cottonseed Meal provide the nutrients for healthy plant growth, while Screened Native Soil and Decomposed Pine provide drainage and balance. The Prococo Coconut Coir Chips provide water retention and increase the nutrient exchange rate (CEC or cation exchange capacity), while Perlite provides additional aeration for healthy roots.

Building healthy soil takes time; it is on ongoing project. The mix’s  Cottonseed Meal (6-2-1 = N-P-K) provides a small boost of nitrogen to support plants’ initial growth. Tank’s recommends that you use an organic fertilizer to feed as needed. Tank’s Organic SuperMix Fertilizer is an all-purpose fertilizer to build healthy soil. IMPORTANT: Please make sure the soil is fully hydrated as you fill beds/containers. The Arizona weather evaporates moisture quickly. CLICK HERE to watch a short clip of properly hydrated soil.

For an easier way to hydrate soil, try adding Raw Yucca by NPK to your water. It is certified organic, and acts as an soil surfactant (agricultural “soap”) to break the soil tension and allow easier hydration, thorough drainage, and improved flushing of solutes.
